TAG Systems enters into mobile payment

TAG Systems, a European smart card-based solutions provider, has acquired Seglan a Spanish IT company developing software and solutions for mobile payment and ticketing.

International card payment schemes forecast that mobile transactions will exceed card

TAG Systems enters into mobile payment by acquiring part of Seglan

based transactions by year 2020. As a result of this operation TAG Systems will offer mobile solutions based on HCE and tokenization to financial institutions, transport operators or merchants.

“It is a strategic operation for TAG Systems, we acquire the competence of Seglan, a recognized front-runner of mobile payments in Europe and increase from today our offer of services and solutions by including HCE, tokenization, wallet developments, and software integrations among others, in our portfolio,” explains Joaquim Miró, President of TAG Systems.

“TAG Systems Poland service bureau will install and start certification of HCE with Visa and MasterCard in the coming months, Polish site will be the first to propose this service in the Group.”

“With its services bureaus in Europe and Latin America and its wide network of distributors, TAG Systems will boost the internationalization of Seglan’s services and solutions contributing to the company’s growth allowing us to reach not only customers but to design new payment solutions jointly,” continues Imanol Garcia, CEO of Seglan.

Both companies believe in the expansion of new payment channels that require secure environments for transactions, Seglan’s solutions provide the secureness and convenience needed in those emerging channels.
