A dutch crypto-currency fanatic has implanted two NFC tags under the skin in his hands to store his digital cash.
Martijn Wismeijer, who runs a company called MrBitco.in in his native Amsterdam, had the

implants installed during a ‘biohacking’ session in the basement of the old Prodent Toothpaste factory organized by Permanent Beta – according to Finextra.
The xNTi injection kit, which retails for $99 on the Dangerous Things website, consists of a fully NFC Type 2 compliant RFID chipset encased in 2 pre-loaded biocompatible glass casings. The tags can scanned by NFC compliant reader/writer devices including USB devices and all NFC capable mobile phones.
The injection kit was designed by Dangerous Things and its production was successfully crowdfunded via an Indiegogo campaign.
In the accompanying video of the procedure, Wismeijer states: “These NFC tags can be used for a variety of purposes but at MrBitco.in we like to see them as subdermal Bitcoin Wallets that enables one to securely store digital cash under one’s skin.”
