BPC Banking Technologies and Alfa-Bank introduce mobile NFC-payments

BPC Banking Technologies and Alfa-Bank – the largest private bank in Russia – announced the launch of a contactless payment service based on NFC technology for Russian telecom operator Beeline. This new service, using MasterCard PayPass Mobile, enables customers to quickly and securely pay for purchases with their mobile phone.

The new solution is available for use on a wide range of handsets and is currently being pilot-tested for the Bank’s customers. Powered by SmartVista, which underpins the Bank’s entire payment processing operations, this new solution was developed very quickly and is seamlessly integrated for smooth and risk free operation.

NFC-technology is used by consumers around the world simplify payments, exchange digital content, and connect electronic devices. Low-value transactions are processed instantly, to bring more convenience to everyday life. For additional security, all transactions over $35 (RUR 1,000) require PIN entry or signature verification.
