Verifone has teamed up with payworks for mPOS

The two companies provide a joint product package based on Verifone’s E Series of terminal devices, enabling acquirers and network service providers (NSPs) to offer their retail merchants an easy-to-integrate mPOS solution. This solution is available in Germany, and a roll-out into other regions is in preparation.

With the new product, acquirers and NSPs can offer Verifone E Series devices alongside their traditional terminal offering and provide retailers, electronic cash register (ECR) software providers and other system integrators, enabling them to add secure card payments into their in-store mPOS solutions running on smartphones and tablets.

payworks runs a payment platform for developers, enabling providers of mPOS applications to integrate payment terminals into their apps via payworks’ mPOS software development kit (SDK). In the past, the company has been mainly focused on powering innovators that build mPOS solutions for the SME space in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). The partnership between Verifone and payworks now brings this technology to larger retail merchants.
