The UK’s largest retailer, Tesco, with £54.4m in sales has announced that its current digital wallet app PayQwiq, is to be re-launched as Tesco Pay+. Further details about Tesco Pay+ will follow later in September.
Launched in 2015, the PayQwiq digital wallet app allows customers to pay for their shopping in a simple and fast manner while at the same time collecting their Clubcard points.
Tesco Pay+ lets you add your credit or debit card details to the app so you can use your smartphone to pay for your shopping with just one scan. Not only that, it also collects your Clubcard points automatically. This means you can now go wallet-free in all UK Tesco stores.
“We are really excited to be telling customers about Tesco Pay+. The journey of our digital wallet has been an exciting one and we’ve learned a great deal about our customers and how they shop in that time,” comments Mark Loch, Tesco Digital Wallets and Group Payments Strategy Director.
“We believe that Tesco Pay+ is going to help the customer journey, offering greater little helps, and we’re looking forward to revealing more in a few weeks’ time.”
Tesco Pay+ is available for both Android and iOS smartphones and has a single transaction limit of £250 to ensure that customers can use Pay+ to pay for their weekly shop and more.
