Ingenico announces that Samport, one of the fastest growing Payment Systems Providers (PSP) in the Nordic region has certified Ingenico’s full range of NFC-enabled mobile and countertop payment devices and launched these to its customers in the region.
Ingenico will supply Samport with its Telium II secure software platform, developed and based on over 30 years of experience working with standards bodies and industry regulators, delivering complete peace of mind for acquirers and merchants. Ingenico will support Samport with hardware maintenance and services from its facility in Dalgety Bay, Scotland in which it recently announced major new investment.
In line with Ingenico’s strategy to develop its business within vertical market segments, the products and solutions will be targeted towards Samport’s customers, mainly operating within the hotel and restaurant, transport and retail markets. Since setting up in 2003, Samport has established an enviable reputation for providing segment-specific payment solutions and managed services for Nordic businesses. For example, with its restaurant solution, the waiter keys in the order at the table and it automatically prints out the order in the kitchen. When it’s time to pay, the system checks whether there are any other purchases (e.g. at the bar) and adds them to the bill. The payment takes place at the table without the waiter having to go back to the cash register, enabling the waiter to serve more customers in the same period of time.
