AnywhereCommerce announced the general availability of Nomad 2.0, its newest mobile point-of-sale (mPOS) appliance for chip-card and magnetic stripe card acceptance.
A more compact and lighter version of AnywhereCommerce’s original Nomad device,
Nomad 2.0 is designed to flexibly support multiple card-present payment method options, including debit, credit, gift and loyalty card transactions through both magnetic stripe technology and EMV Chip-and-PIN functionalities.
It has built-in secure Bluetooth capability, is PCI-compliant, EMVCo L1, L2 certified, and Visa Ready approved. Nomad 2.0 is compatible with most operating systems, including Android, iOS, Windows 8.1 and Windows Phone 8 mobile and tablet platforms.
“We believe that Nomad 2.0 represents a substantial improvement over other mobile payment acceptance appliances in the marketplace,” comments Mitchell Cobrin, CEO, AnywhereCommerce.
“Our team has worked hard to create a powerful yet compact device that will provide the fast, flexible and highly secure card-present payment options that merchant services providers around the world need to service their on-the-go customers. We anticipate that Nomad 2.0’s distinctive characteristics and competitive price point will make it a popular choice for merchant services providers, financial institutions and retailers.”
