Datacard instant issuance implementation with Ecobank in Africa

Datacard Group has announced that Ecobank Transnational Inc., a financial services provider with operations in over 30 African countries, is enhancing their customer service levels by implementing Datacard financial instant issuance solutions for in-branch issuance of its Visa CashXpress prepaid cards.

A multi-purpose prepaid card that is specifically designed for both customers and non-customers of Ecobank as well as banked and unbanked people, the Visa CashXpress prepaid card can be used for payments and withdrawals from ATMs, POS and other terminals around the world.

“Ecobank has a wide variety of customers who use the CashXpress card — including students, employees, merchants, business people and corporations,” comments Rick Harbey Odom Thomson, head of card operations, OPS and IT for Ecobank Centrafrique SA. “This multi-currency payment card provides the alternative to carrying cash and is great for individuals traveling abroad or who do not have a bank account.  It’s very important to us to offer convenience and enhanced customer service and we’re so excited to now be able to offer it instantly to customers.”
