Tech giant Apple has incorporated a new feature into its iOS8 operating system and browser Safari, allowing credit card scanning for users with their iOS device cameras at merchant sites. The new feature automatically detects when a credit card number is required and gives the user the option to scan their credit card.
The scan feature aims to eliminate the need for mobile commerce users to enter strings of numbers on devices such as phones, which has often been cited by industry experts as a barrier to the growth of m-commerce.
